Error :: The Taxonomy feature has not been activated.

While working on Metadata Assignment using List > Metadata Column, i received the following error:

The Taxonomy feature (Feature ID “73EF14B1-13A9-416b-A9B5-ECECA2B0604C”) has not been activated.

Problem

The feature is not activated & it is a hidden-feature.

Solution

Activate the feature at site level using PowerShell.

Enable-SPFeature 73EF14B1-13A9-416b-A9B5-ECECA2B0604C -url http://server/site

 

More Info

Using the Get-SPFeature command we can see that it is a:

Site Scoped Feature

It is a Hidden Feature
