    Hi Jean,
I am Kiran, I started working on SP from last 2 months. I didn’t find any proper way to learn SP.Can you suggest me way to learn SP.

    • Jean Paul said

      Hello Kiran,

Good to see your interest in SP.
I would like to say the Interest is the Key to learning any thing.

I prefer you learn sharepoint by starting from the installation itself.
After playing for 2 weeks, you can start with programming.

You can refer to my ebook and suggest some improvements too.

    Hi Jean,

I am using custom webservices for placing the documents and creating folders. I am using one Application server and WFE server. I deployed my webservice in Application server and i am trying to accessing from the WFE server. But i am getting the below error
Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException: The Web application at
http://localhost/sites/sitename could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application.
But the same code of webservice i am copied to one console application and testing then it is running perfectly. Can you help to resolve this error Jean?

      Hello Satish,

Can you access the URL from the browser?
If not, the web service should be deployed from CA to WFE & try accessing it.

I would recommend using host names instead of localhost.

yes i am able to access the sites from WFE. But only the error occurred is when passing the url to webservice for accessing that site,

Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException: The Web application at http://servername/sites/sitecollectioname/sitename could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application.
